Photo Rejuvenation

Skin Rejuvenation (IPL/DPL), Red Veins and Pigmentation

At Peak Appearance we are pleased to offer you our extensive experience in laser and light therapies. We are safety certified laser operators. We specialise in the use of Intense and Digital Pulsed light to treat a variety of conditions, including facial veins, rosacea and flushed cheeks, pigmentation, age spots (sun-induced freckles), some scarring and blemishes, as well as improving skin texture. We also perform permanent hair reduction.

IPL Skin Rejuvenation Treatments are a safe, effective and popular way to improve the skin on the face, neck, chest arms and hands. This in-clinic procedure usually requires 3-6 sessions of about 20 minutes each, performed at 3 weekly intervals. The procedure is very comfortable – the sensation is likened to the flick of an elastic band on the skin. In addition to effectively treating multiple symptoms in each session, the IPL is gentle, non-invasive and safe requiring no down time.

Many people have spent considerable time and money trying to disguise red veins and pigmentation with cosmetics. It gives us great satisfaction to see people delighted to need less make-up and look even better, most wished they had known about this sooner!

Photo-Rejuvenation provides superior cosmetic results and outstanding client satisfaction.

Hair Removal

Innovative, light based devices have revolutionized the treatment of unwanted hair, offering an effective and convenient solution for both men and women.

The IPL /DPL System uses target flashes of light to inhibit growth potential of the hair follicle. These treatments do not damage surrounding tissue, and they target numerous hair follicles simultaneously, allowing for treatment of larger areas more effectively.

The result being permanent hair reduction.

The treatment:

Before treatment clients are requested to shave or cut the hairs in the area to be treated  - usually the day before, so that the hairs are just protruding above the skin. A cold gel is applied to the skin to keep the skin cool and focus the light treatment.

Your nurse will enter specific settings into the system for your hair and skin-type, and conduct a test spot to assess your skins responsiveness to the device.

The length of a treatment may be as short as a few minutes for small areas or up to an hour for larger areas. It is important to understand that the number of treatments required will depend on your specific skin and hair type. Generally we can give you an estimate during your consultation as to the number of treatments required (4-8 sessions is an average).

The treatment may cause some minor discomfort – clients often describe it as a slight sting or liken it to a small pinch.  The appearance of the skin following a treatment varies from person to person, however most can expect mild redness lasting for up to a few hours. You can return to normal activity immediately.  The hairs will fall out between 1-3 weeks after the treatment. Subsequent sessions are scheduled for the next hair growth cycle  –  usually 4-6weeks.
